Answer: Yes
Question: Does the tap enable to turn it on or just to change colors?
Answer: Yes, the tap does enable the light to turn on. The instructions are pretty well written. Also on the bottom of the light you'll see a small red or green light indicating for how long the light will stay on when not plugged in (39 mins for the red light and 60 mins for the green light)
Question: Can it stay on one color?
Answer: Yes,it can.Tap the nightlight by the fourth times, you can stay on one of colors you want. Question: Can you set it to turn off automatically with the remote?
Answer: The nursery night light don't have remote. But you still can set 30 or 60 mins timer to turn off automatically.

Answer: You have to press the button unless the battery dies.

Answer: It depends on whether it is fully charged, using warm light or 7 colors mode. If fully charged and constantly use, warm light last for 5 hours and 7 color chaging last 10 hours.
